LEGENDARY HITS IN MIAMI: A CHARITY EVENING WITH SASHA TAB AND METENKA
Melody, generosity, and the spirit of home — 2 August 2025

On a balmy August night, St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church transformed into a vibrant corner of Ukraine. Every ticket purchased became a lifeline—100 percent of sales were donated to Liberty Ukraine for vehicles that will save lives at the front. The soundtrack of the evening belonged to Sasha Tab, lead vocalist of Eurovision-winning Kalush Orchestra, and the rising trio Metenka, whose soaring harmonies cast a spell over the hall.
Voices That Go Straight to the Soul
From the first chord the audience was swept into a wave of emotion. Kalush classics met fresh arrangements of beloved Ukrainian songs; Sasha Tab’s gritty timbre intertwined with Metenka’s velvet vocals, moving listeners from tear-streaked stillness to thunderous sing-along in a single breath.
“Music can travel where words cannot,” Sasha Tab told the crowd, “and tonight it carries a promise: Ukraine will prevail.”
Heartfelt & Down-to-Earth
Despite busy tour schedules and gold-plated accolades, every musician was disarmingly approachable—sharing laughs backstage, posing for photos, and thanking volunteers by name. The concert felt less like a tour stop and more like a reunion of friends united by music and purpose.
Millennium Sets the Stage
The evening opened with an electrifying set by the Millennium Ukrainian Dance Ensemble. Flashing boots, vivid embroidery, and sky-high lifts earned a standing ovation and set the emotional temperature for all that followed.
Led by artistic director Olena Tarantseva and producer-dancer Julia Tarantseva, Millennium traced an arc of welcome, longing, and triumph:
-
“Welcome Dance with Embroidery.” A kaleidoscope of regional cross-stitch motifs whirled across the stage, inviting guests into Ukraine’s living folklore.
-
“Spring dance.” Soft midnight lighting framed a lyrical adagio to Natalia May’s haunting ballad, its feather-light port-de-bras painting a lullaby of hope.
-
“All Ukraine” Drums cracked, ribbons flew, and Hopak kicks merged with contemporary jumps in a blazing finale that set the hall chanting: “Ukraine will prevail!”
Dancing With the Headliners
Millennium's role didn’t end with their own numbers. Through the night the dancers became a living frame for the musicians Sasha Tab and Metenka. During upbeat Kalush Orchestra hits, the dancers flanked the singers, echoing every gesture with rippling arm waves—like wheat fields undulating behind the melody. In Metenka’s acoustic interlude, two ballerinas stepped forward with a tender pas de deux that translated the trio’s velvet harmonies into motion.
The finale brought it all together: musicians, dancers, and audience locked arm-in-arm for a unified bow as confetti and cheers rained down. In that instant, melody, movement, and mission fused—turning a charity concert into a heartbeat of national solidarity.

By weaving welcome, yearning, and unbreakable spirit into one seamless narrative, the evening proved that art can be both a celebration and a force for good. Millennium’s choreography amplified every note sung, rallied every QR-code donation, and reminded each guest that helping Ukraine begins with standing—then dancing—together.
Stay tuned for Millennium’s next appearances as they continue to transform stages into bridges of hope, one powerful step at a time.
Thank you to everyone who sang, danced, and gave from the heart. Nights like this prove the unbreakable power of Ukrainian unity. More concerts are on the way—where music and dance translate into tangible aid for the front lines.

Together, we turn applause into action. See you at the next show!
